I bought a beautiful leather baby bag before my first daughter was born. It was exactly the kind of thing I thought I'd carry into this new chapter of life. Well made, elegant, expensive enough to feel like an investment.
I used it twice. It was too nice to take to the park. Too nice to load with nappy creams and half-eaten rice crackers. So it sat on a shelf, and I carried something cheap and functional instead feeling quietly frustrated every time I reached for it.
That gap between the $500 bag too precious to use and the $15 bag you're embarrassed by felt like the exact problem worth solving.
So I started looking for a tote that was genuinely beautiful, held my values in the materials it was made from, and designed to just be used. I couldn't find one. That became Fayded.
Before Fayded, I was and am a Registered Nurse. I spent years in emergency departments and surgical units, and a season working in remote communities. That work taught me just how fragile life is - and how much women carry, quietly, without a great deal of ceremony.
Motherhood shifted something. I wanted fewer things, but better ones. A home that felt calmer. Products I could trust. I'd watched too many women (myself included) buy things that promised to simplify and instead just added more to manage.
Fayded started during maternity leave, built from Hobart, Tasmania. That pace, that landscape, that preference for the unhurried and the well-made, is in everything we create.
European flax linen. OEKO-TEX certified cotton. Food-grade stainless. We don't use synthetic blends when a natural alternative exists. We never will.
We don't overproduce. We work with trusted manufacturing partners, test every detail, and only release things we'd put in our own homes.
We're not going to tell you buying a tote bag saves the planet. We'll tell you it's made from 450gsm European flax, certified by OEKO-TEX, and designed to be genuinely used. It will last you a LONG time - not forever, but why do we need things that last forever? That's the honest version.
Everything we make is stress-tested for real use — not photographed and shelved. If you wouldn't reach for it on an ordinary Tuesday, we haven't done our job.
What you can always expect.
No pressure to be perfect. No greenwashing. No noise. Just well-made essentials you can trust and feel proud to bring into your home.
We tell you exactly what our products are made from, how they're made, and where. If we can't answer it, we don't stock it.
We'd rather make fewer things at a standard we're proud of than more things at a price point we're not. That's the whole model.
If it isn't right for you, we'll sort it. No awkward windows, no questions that make you feel like the problem.
Every order leaves our Hobart studio by hand. What you see online is what arrives. We take that personally, because it is personal.
Whatever brought you here, Fayded is for women who are done with things that don't earn their place. We hope you find something that genuinely gets used.
